Social networking... Facebook, Twitter, Google+... the interaction of "friends" all based on a screen made of bits and bytes... friendships of the past... cyber stalking celebrities, following people you don't know but share a common interest... posts, tweets, likes, retweets, +1, hashtags... does this make people feel that they now belong to something? Does it make people feel special? Cell phones have now put all of this, plus the entire internet at our finger tips... most if the time it barely leaves them... but for what? What does this actually do anything for us... anything?...people on their cellphones when they should be communicating with the person next to them hanging out and sharing ideas face to face. Being in the moment. Creating life experiences... not reading and experiencing others lives, hanging on to their every word... just living for the glow of your cell phone... and the hope of interesting posts... just living for bits and bytes and not the reality that we are here to experience... to observe... as I write this I'm staring into the white glow... as I lay here typing these words into the abyss that is the internet... I think to myself how we have come to this... and where will we go from here?
